hello october!

it's one of those things...what happened to September? It is mostly a blur but I swear it was only 4 days. So it is October now. I made the first pot of soup of the season last night, a really wonderful creamy broccoli with sharp cheddar, warm rolls and a salad. It's boots and sweaters and today for the first time a rain coat and hat. There was lots of wind which is always nice and exciting. And baths! hot baths, more sleep. We are already talking about wanting a vacation somewhere warm. We thought Hawaii but it just doesn't fit in with things right now. These pictures I took on Saturday at the restaurant where we went out to dinner with LD's parents. A bottle of ketchup exploded all over my shirt and LD's mom thought it was quite possibly the funniest thing in this world. Me, I didn't laugh. I wish I could laugh at myself more though. I hope to decorate the house with Halloween decorations for Oliver this weekend.

Gorgeous pictures of your walk. I hope the ketchup comes out of your skirt..I wish I could laugh at myself more too. Maybe a new years goal. Have a great day.

September ended as soon as it began. No doubt about it. And sadly, October seems to be doing the same. Where oh where does the time go? Wow, is that the lighting in the restaurant? I've never seen anything like those flames before. As for the ketchup, I would have had a stunned look at first and then I would have busted up. I laugh at everyone, especially me. On the outside anyway. Inside I'll spend way too much time going over the event in slo-mo trying to figure out what happened, could I have prevented it, what the reactions were, whether I am indeed as big of a nerd as I suspect I am, etc.

Love those long fall shadows & the brown wine twined through the sunlight, Rebekah. Sorry about the shirt. Embarrassing moments are rarely fun for the person being embarrassed. Last year my husband fell off of a ladder from the garage (about six ft./not serious enough to injure himself) and I laughed so hard I almost fell over. He hated me a little at that moment, I think. But it was rather funny. We now joke about it. ;)

Fall is my most favorite of seasons...and you've captured it perfectly with these photos, Rebekah. (And just for the record, I think I would have had a hard time finding ketchup all over my shirt hilarious. Or even mildly amusing.)
